MISSION

BDI is unwavering in its commitment to upholding the highest standards of security, integrity, and validity across all of our examination programs. To achieve this, we have established a dedicated internal Exam Security team that collaborates closely with external vendors and exam security experts.

This team is solely tasked with safeguarding the integrity of BDI-sponsored exams, ensuring that:

Only qualified individuals successfully pass our exams and earn BDI certifications.

All candidates are provided with an equitable testing environment, free from unfair advantages.

Exam content is rigorously protected and maintained with utmost confidentiality.

BDI's certification programs, policies, and procedures adhere to or surpass the stringent international standards for high-stakes testing, as outlined in ISO 17024.

CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES

By participating in BDI-sponsored examination programs, all candidates implicitly agree to the terms and conditions outlined in the BDI Certification Application/Renewal Agreement. This agreement mandates adherence to the BDI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, as well as strict compliance with all applicable BDI Certification Program policies and requirements. Detailed information regarding Certification Program policies is readily available in the respective examination program's handbook. To reinforce these responsibilities, exam takers are presented with a Candidate Security Acknowledgement immediately before commencing an examination.

Any candidate found to be in violation of the Agreement, Code of Ethics, or any Certification Program policies or requirements will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action.

DATA INVESTIGATION

In accordance with the BDI Certification Application/Renewal Agreement, BDI conducts statistical analyses, commonly referred to as data investigations, on test administrations. These analyses, widely employed in the testing industry, aim to safeguard the integrity of examinations by identifying anomalies that may indicate a candidate's score does not accurately reflect their knowledge or abilities, including evidence of candidate misconduct.

In the event that BDI detects evidence of severe misconduct, the corresponding test score will be invalidated, and the examination will be classified as a security breach. If a candidate chooses to reattempt the examination following the cancellation of their score, they must do so in person at a designated test center and bear the applicable re-examination fee.

UNETHICAL PRACTICES AND OTHER BREACHES OF EXAMINATION CONDUCT

Since transitioning to online testing for the CDA certification, BDI has witnessed a substantial rise in the proliferation of services that guarantee exam success without the need for actual participation. These services are often advertised through direct messages on various social media platforms, including WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and WeChat.

While the majority of these services are merely fraudulent schemes aimed at exploiting unsuspecting individuals, the Exam Security team has uncovered instances where candidates are instructed to engage in deliberate misconduct during their exam session.

BDI employs a multifaceted approach to detect and address all forms of candidate misconduct, encompassing but not limited to proxy testing, theft of exam content, pre-exam access to exam questions, and unauthorized assistance during the exam. BDI has already initiated disciplinary actions against individuals found to have engaged in misconduct. These actions may include score cancellations, revocation of certifications, permanent bans from future BDI examinations, and, in extreme cases, collaboration with local authorities to pursue criminal charges

BDI remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of its examinations and the value of its certifications. If you are contacted by any of these services, please send an email to examsecurity@bdi.org with a screenshot or picture of the message so that we can investigate.
